It's official! For those of you that do not know, we are having a baby! Yes, I said baby. Not a pit bull baby - a real, Nelson baby! Surprise!
In the days leading up to last weekend, I had not been feeling quite myself....a little nauseous, very tired, etc. So, on Sunday, September 14th, I woke up and decided to take a test. Luckily, I had one stashed away...
In literally one second, it said I was pregnant. In disbelief, I asked Ryan to come in and take a look. It was true - it definitely said pregnant. Within minutes, he was calling friends, parents, sisters, etc. so I knew he was okay with the whole thing. My parents, sister, and friends were all thrilled with the news. In fact, they've all been DYING for us to expand our family, so this could not have come a moment too soon for any of them.
I called the doc on Monday and set up my first pre-natal appointment. I became a bit nervous when she said I could come in on October 27th at 1pm. I always dreamed this process worked a little differently, but I am learning to go with the flow. So that being said, on Oct. 27, I have my first appointment and ultrasound. Hopefully by then, Baby Nelson will be large enough to see.
So the journey begins here. I hope to share with you all what I am going through as the weeks progress. So far, pregnancy = queasiness. The smell of certain foods make me queasy. And I can tell my body is doing weird things inside...hmmm.....what's next?

I am 'Aunt Dawney', Crystal's sister. I could not be any happier for Sissy and Ryan! I am moving in a couple of weeks to my new house and I will only be about 8 minutes away from Sissy. I want to share everything everyday with this new life in our family. I will love this little one as much as I love my Sissy!
Yay!!! CONGRATULATIONS!! I am so excited that you're blogging the pregnancy! Almost as excited as when you told me that Nelson FINALLY knocked you up! LOL. What a wonderful surprise! I still can't really believe it... you're actually giving me a niece or nephew without spots, catfish whiskers, or a cute red nose? :)
Please know that I'm right here for you, thru it all... from painting the nursery, to changing stinky diapers, to the first day of kindergarten when he or she meets a lifelong friend, to helping you to convince Ryan that Baby doesn't need to be in a hurry to learn how to race! :)
You, Ryan, and Baby have so many people that love you and will help you every step of the way. We just have to remember to not fight each other or get on your nerves while doing so.
Hang on tight, sister. I think this may be our wildest adventure yet! XOXO
What wonderful news!!! I know you will make a fantastic mother. I am so happy for you both and look forward to sharing this journey with you! Tell Ryan that he must spoil you rotten now as we will at work...
Happy Mommy = Happy Baby
